Our construction group’s day started very early (5:30/6ish) to get a start on construction of a deck on the girls’ cabin. A few girls decided to help out as well since it wasn’t particularly quiet anyway.
Just after breakfast a large group of us headed over to a local elementary school to spend time with the kids there. We left them with chips and juice and all the crafts that we brought, and in return we were blessed with painted and stickered faces and hearts full of awesome memories.
By the time we returned, the construction crew had finished the deck, despite the crazy rain!
This afternoon we made our way to the Mayan Ruins via the tiniest cable ferry we’ve ever seen. It is pulled across the small river by a man cranking the wheel! Some of our kids are very good at bartering with the souvenir stall workers that were set of nearby!
After the walk to get to the ruins and then the steps to get to the top, we built up a decent appetite. Everyone is now very full after a delicious and cheap meal at Hodes.
The torrential rain was so nice to bring down the temperature, but it did put a hold on some concrete work that we hoped to get done.
Thank you for your prayers and comments, we love reading them at our devotional time.

Hi Danica and you great group of students and teachers, this could be once in a lifetime experience enjoy and God bless you all and keep you safe. Grandad.
Hi ShyLo!! Looks like an amazing time! We are proud of you both and can’t wait to see your pictures and hear about your experiences!!
my dear Students (& Colleagues, of course!)
It is lovely to read about your adventures! You are in my morning prayers. We just arrived at BIg White. The temp? -6. Brilliant sunshine, hail, rain and snow en route; very spring-like weather. The promise is for more snow while we are here. I say this to help you cool off. I know. Just what you needed! :). BLessings on you as you work and play. My prayer is that you will hear and see God in new ways. I look forward to hearing your "God-stories" after spring break.
Take care,
Ms Huizing
You got the iconic picture on the steps! Love it! Hopefully you can each get a photo of your class "H" as a keepsake. What crazy weather you all have experienced. Lots of opportunities to adapt and adjust- remember that while things catch us off guard, nothing surprises our good God and His good plans. Including challenges! Keep working hard and persevering, everyone, and enjoy your last days together in Belize.
That's cool you got to climb the ruins. Nathan, what souvenir are you bringing back for me?! 😉 I'm sure you were able to talk your way to a good price.
